Serves: 4 People
12-16 Chicken wings, roughly 3 lbs of wings
½ Cup vegetable oil (or alternative oil if you prefer. I actually use coconut oil most frequently)
Your favourite seasoning or BBQ rub -- I've also written up an optional seasoning mix below
Ranch dipping sauce (ranch is the best)
Optional: Seasoning mix
2 Tablespoons paprika
1 Teaspoon cayenne pepper
¼ Teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
1¼ Teaspoon Kosher salt
½ Teaspoon garlic powder
½ Teaspoon onion powder
Place all of the wings into a large container that can be sealed with a lid
Mix seasoning ingredients and the cooking oil together well in a small bowl
Pour the seasoning and oil marinade over the wings, making sure they're well coated, using your hands if you have to. A large container big enough for all of the wings is ideal here because you can seal it and then toss the wings for better mixing as well!
Set wings aside and allow to marinate for 30 minutes
Turn on your Char-Broil The Big Easy Oil-Less Fryer
Add chicken wings to the cooking basket racks and then lower the basket into The Big Easy — make sure you put the wire mesh cover back on
Cook the wings for 30-40 minutes (10 minutes per pound is a great rule of thumb with The Big Easy Fryer)
Pay close attention to the wings as the chicken wings at the top of the basket tend to cook a bit quicker than the wings at the bottom of the basket. Feel free to turn the basket periodically and use tongs to rotate the wings for more even cooking
Remove when the chicken wings are golden brown and let them rest for 5 minutes before serving
Serve with ranch dressing or other inferior dipping sauce if you’re so inclined
A great rule of thumb for cooking with The Big Easy Oil-less Fryer is ten minutes cook time per pound of meat
